Installing STEINBAUER PowerModules on a Yanmar 4JH45

Without a doubt the STEINBAUER PowerModules are one of our favorite upgrades on our Leopard 45 catamaran. Boosting the Yanmar 4JH45 engines up to around 60 HP, we're pleased with the improved fuel consumption and performance.

This video discusses the performance of the modules and how the installation works on a 4JH45 engine.

THE WIRING HARNESS RUNS FROM THE MODULE ALONGSIDE THE OEM CABLES. THE ONE HIGHLIGHTED BLUE IN THE DIAGRAM GOES TO THE INJECTORS, THE YELLOW TO THE POWER SUPPLY:

CABLE TIES ARE USED TO SECURE THE HARNESS AND ENSURE IT DOES NOT MOVE DURING OPERATION TO PREVENT VIBRATION AND WEAR ON THE CABLES:

Cable Management

Securing the cables is an essential part of this installation to minimise the risk of cable damage due to vibration and movement. It is a good idea to check the harness when the engine is under load and see if there are any areas of the wiring harness that need to be made more secure.
