Leopard Catamaran Handover Check List

We developed this handover check list based on issues we noticed have commonly been found across Leopard 45 and 50 models. It's not a exhaustive list of what you should test and examine during the handover period, but it gives you a good place to start.

STEINBAUER PowerModules for 4JH45 Engines (45hp to 60hp)

STEINBAUER is an Austrian company is led by Herbert Steinbauer, a fellow Leopard 45 Catamaran owner who developed a engine tuning module specifically for the Yanmar 4JH45 motor. It optimises the injector cycle the same way the manufacturers do, taking the 4JH45 from 45 HP to 60 HP.

Check out this blog to learn more about how the modules work, the benefits of having them and the implications for your Yanmar warranty.

Leopard 45 Rig Settings

When ZSpars came to visit us in Gibraltar we were given a copy of the B3 Leopard 45 rig settings (see the episode here!). Among other information, it states the load tolerances the rigging needs to be set within which can be checked using a tension meter. You can download and save a JPG of the document.

Our Leopard 45

These are some of the scans and reports in relation to our hull.

SV Liger Fiberglass Hull Scan

A partial fiberglass hull scan and report for our Leopard 45 after one ocean crossing. The report was issued in Italy by SGP Testing within 6 months of the yacht leaving Cape Town where it was handed over. We have redacted some personal information. Here's what it looked like in Trinidad.

Click to download the scan report.

SV Liger Surveyors Report

This surveyors report was done within 6 months of the yacht leaving Cape Town where it was handed over. It was prepared by Rebulla Surveyors in Italy after Robertson & Caine requested we submit a surveyors report as part of our warranty claim documents. We have redacted the personal information of the surveyor and detailed the R&C response in a video.

Click to download the surveyors report and the list of deficiencies.

Keep in mind that this report was just what was visible to the surveyor, and further investigations by JS Marine in Trinidad found more.
